Natural Vegetation And Wildlife

Introduction

Natural Vegetation And Wildlife – Most people do not know about the vegetation and the wildlife on Earth. But the people must know and be concerned about the natural vegetation and the wildlife, which can help to survive on the earth. We cannot imagine the Earth without natural vegetation and the wildlife in its surroundings. The vegetation and the wildlife play a major role in the natural environment. The vegetation provides oxygen, which is essential for human survival on Earth. And the wildlife also helps in various ways in the presence of humans on the earth. So all the people must show concern and interest in the development of vegetation and the wildlife.

Natural Vegetation

It is nothing, but it is one of the processes that help in growing plants by humans in natural processes. If you develop the natural vegetation, it helps you to survive on the Earth with nature. The natural vegetation helps to get the fresh air, oxygen, and good food that help in the growing process on the earth. By the natural vegetation process, there are many plant species, and the flowering plants are planted by this kind of technique. It is one of the most used and widespread techniques to develop the country economically.

Virgin vegetation

The virgin vegetation is one of the processes in the natural vegetation techniques. Basically, the natural vegetation can be used by humans, but in the virgin vegetation, the plants can be grown without the help of humans. It comes from a long period, and it is not distributed by humans. Eventually, the flora and the fauna can be grown through this process in the natural diversity. Many people avoid this technique, which is part of the natural vegetation. But the use of virgin vegetation also increases due to its results of the development in the process.

Reasons for affecting the Vegetation

  • Soil: The important reason for the development of vegetation is the soil. But the different types of soil are not suitable for the vegetation techniques. If you see that the wet soil is suitable for mangrove vegetation, and the sandy soil is suitable for the thorny bushes, etc.
  • Land: The best land helps in getting good vegetation with its natural characteristics. But the land is affecting the vegetation directly or indirectly. Manually, the fertile land is suitable for the farming process. If the land is not suitable for evaporation, it hardly affects the natural vegetation.
  • Photoperiod: The natural vegetation also depends on the photoperiod, like seasons, altitude, and latitude, for getting good results. The trees grow fast in the summer season compared to all the other seasons. Meanwhile, if the rain comes in the season, it hardly damages the whole natural vegetation.
  • Temperature: Temperature plays a key role in the natural vegetation process. Like, if the area is filled with high temperatures and high humidity, it helps to evergreen forests. Meanwhile, if the area is filled with high temperatures and low humidity, it helps in supporting to growth of horny bushes.
  • Rainfall: The rainfall also causes severe effects on the natural vegetation. Likely, if the area is filled with heavy rainfall, it helps to vegetate, but if the land area is sunken deeply, it damages the total natural vegetation. The scanty rainfall is helpful to thorny bushes in the process.

Ecosystem

All the living things, like plants, animals, and living organisms that are part of the environment, are called an ecosystem. Mainly, the living and the nonliving environment are also present in the area, such as soil, earth, and sun in the ecosystem. The weather and the climate, atmosphere also relate to the ecosystem. Without the ecosystem, the survival of human beings would be difficult on Earth. The beings are totally dependent on the ecosystem for their presence on Earth. The ecosystem helps in giving the air, food, fuel, fodder, light, etc, for the basic requirements for all the living and nonliving things.

Types of Vegetation

The natural vegetation can be classified into five types based on the studies. In India, the natural vegetation is filled with a high amount of trees and bushes, and other plants in the process.

  • Tropical Rainforest
  • Tropical deciduous forests
  • Tropical Thorn forests, Scrubs
  • Montane Forests
  • Mangrove Forests

Tropical Rain Forests

The tropical rainforests are mostly classified into the heavy rainfall areas compared to all areas. The rainfall in these tropical rainforests is about 200 cm, and the rainfall is reduced in dry seasons. These tropical rainforests are filled with flora and fauna. The trees are at a high level, and also the fauna and the flora found in these areas. The tropical rain forest is mostly filled with a high range of rainfall compared to all types of natural vegetation. Basically, the tropical rainforests are mainly filled with a multilayered structure in all the vegetation processes. These forests are highly filled with green trees and bushes, which are the main thing that arises of the natural vegetation.

Tropical Deciduous Forests

In these tropical deciduous forests, the trees shed their leaves in the dry winter and summer seasons. Eventually, the annual rainfall is found in the 70-200 cm range, which is placed on the measured scale. Based on the studies, it is also called the ‘monsoon forests’ compared to its nature with types of forests.

It is divided into two types of forests like that is classified on the basis of the rainfall.

  • Tropical moist deciduous forests:  According to the studies, these types of forests are found in the northeastern states, mostly in the part of the Himalayas. The regional states like Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, West Odisha, and the Western Ghats. The flora, like bamboo, teak, and sandalwood, is found in these forests. The fauna, like the sloth bear, tiger, wolf, and gaur, are found in these forests.
  • Tropical dry deciduous forests: As per the research and studies, these types of forests are found in the Bihar plains, Uttar Pradesh, the Peninsular Plateau, and some parts of Telangana. Mainly, it is found in the rainfall of 100-70 cm, areas that are measured on the scale. The flora that we can find, like neem, teak, sal, and peepal, is found in these forests. And the fauna is found in the blackbuck, wild water buffalo, chinkara, and antelope in these types of forests.

Thorn forests and Scrubs

These types of forests are found in the northern regions like Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Haryana. In India, it is also found in Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, mostly in these areas. These thorn forests receive less than 70 cm of rainfall in these regions. In these types, the trees contain a long, deeply rooted system that is deeply embedded in the ground level. Mainly, the stems conserve water through nature. The evaporation also takes place on the leaves, which helps in the growing process of trees and also helps humans also for their lifestyle. Meanwhile, in the evaporation process, the thorns help in the prevention of evaporation. The flora, like palms, cacti, Euphorbia, and Acacias, is found in these thorn forests. And the fauna like Rabbits, Rats, foxes, camels, wolves, and wild ass in these forests.

Montanne Forests

The montane forests are nothing but forests found in the mountain areas, so it is called the montane forests. Mainly, the wet temperate type of forests is found in these types of forests. Usually, the alpine vegetation also grows more at higher altitudes of 3600 meters. Also, the vegetation is hard to maintain because the mountains are sometimes filled with snow. But the flora and the fauna ais found in these types of mountain forests. The flora, like pine, oak, chestnut, spruce, etc, can be found in these forests. Meanwhile, the fauna like spotted deer, kashmir stag, jack rabbit, yak, snow leopard, etc found in these types of forests.

Mangrove Forests

The mangrove forests are one of the types that are usually seen in the natural vegetation. These mangroves are with the large trees, and the trees are of medium size, which is suitable for growing easily underwater. Eventually, in the mangroves, the shrubs also touch the coastline. The roots of the mangroves are deeply rooted and submerged in the water areas. The roots in hallow grow in vertical form for the correct breathing process of the roots. The flora and the fauna also take place in the mangrove type of forests. The flora, like coconut, agar, sundari, keora, etc found in this type of forest. Eventually, the fauna like monkeys, royal Bengal tiger, indian crocodile, Ganges dolphin are spotted in these areas.

Wildlife

India is one of the best countries that gives importance to wildlife in the environment. Based on the information, there are more than 1200 species of birds, and also more than 89,000 animal species, 2500 fish species in the country. Basically, it is the home ground for the indian lions, Bengal tigers, deer, pythons, crocodiles, bears, foxes, monkeys, snakes, antelopes, wild dogs, etc. Eventually, you can see the ducks, peacocks, cranes, peahens, and pigeons are available to see in the countryside. All the reptiles are in thousands of forms that also venomous snakes taht is the poisonous in the country. Basically, containing the wildlife is not important, but conservation is important in the development of a safe future.

Wildlife Preservation in India

There are many ways that can be used for the preservation of wildlife in India. They use national parks, biosphere reserves, sanctuaries, and many other ways that can be used for the preservation of wildlife. These methods help in preserving the animal and bird species with safe methods, without harming them. Mainly, these preservation happens for future generations to know the species that come from our ancient times. These species also use safe hands that are under control by the government, and they will be responsible for taking care of the preservation of wildlife.

  • National parks – More than 120 national parks are available in  India.
  • Biosphere reserves – There are 18 biosphere reserves that can be used for the conservation of species.
  • Sanctuaries – There are more than 500  wildlife sanctuaries that are available for the safety of species.

These methods help in the preservation of species, mostly of the endangered species. These endangered species are very important for future generations.

National Parks

The national parks are referred to as highly protected areas with a geographic territory. It is mainly used in the protection of wildlife, which is under the control of the government, for the safety of the species. These national parks are established for the conservation of the wild flora and fauna without the help of humans. According to the studies, there are more than 120 national parks available, which can be helpful for the conservation of wildlife. In these national parks the grazing is not allowed for outsiders’ animals for their usage. The forest products are also not allowed to be harvested in these parks because they may have an effect on the species while doing the process.

Biosphere Reserves

It is also one of the methods that can be used for the conservation of wildlife. In India, there are many national parks and sanctuaries that are set aside for the preservation of wildlife. They arrange 18 biosphere reserves that are available for the preservation of wildlife. Like Nanda devi, Nilgiri, Nokrek, Gulf of mannar, Sundarbans, Simlipal, Manas, Panchmarhi, Dihang-Dibang. And also Panna, Dibru-Saikhowa, Seshachalam, Great Nicobar, Agasthymalai, Cold Desert, Khangchendzonga, Great Rann of Kutch, Achana-Amarkantak, etc.

Sanctuaries

The sanctuaries are used for the protection of the wildlife, which is referred to as the protected area of the wildlife. In these sanctuaries, limited humans are allowed, which helps in the conservation of the wildlife. The sanctuaries are not fenced physically for the public, but it is available to see the species. Based on the information, there are more than 500 sanctuaries that can be used for the preservation of wildlife. In this type the grazing is allowed outside for animals for their usage. Many forest products are also harvested in these sanctuaries, which are used for the development of the forests.

Conclusion

To conclude, without the natural vegetation the humans cannot survive easily in life, as they provide food, fodder, fuel, air, and everything to live. The conservation of wildlife is useful, and it is everyone’s right to conserve the endangered species. If you are not responsible for the endangered species and natural vegetation, you will face a lot of problems in the future. So, try to save the vegetation and wildlife instead of harming the environment.
